What is a Strucket™???

This is a Strucket™

One of the best tools you will ever have for scouring fiber

Watch here to see how it's done

A Strucket™ is a clever household tool that’s basically a bucket inside a bucket with a built-in strainer and plug.

* The inner bucket has holes in the bottom, like a colander.

* The outer bucket catches liquid.

* There’s a drain plug at the bottom so you can easily release dirty water without lifting and tipping.

It was originally designed in Australia for soaking baby clothes, reusable nappies, and other laundry, but people use it for:

* Washing wool and fleece (great for scouring since you can lift the fiber out of the dirty water).

* Soaking veggies or fruit.

* Cleaning camping gear.

* Home brewing or fermenting prep.

* General soaking/straining jobs around the house.

Here is how I use it to scour wool, mohair and alpaca

* Fill the outer bucket with warm water + detergent/soap.

* Place fleece in the inner strainer bucket.

* Once it’s soaked, just lift the inner bucket — the dirty water drains straight out the holes.

* You can set the inner bucket across the top rim so the fleece doesn’t sit in dirty water.

* Pull the plug at the bottom to release the water (no heavy lifting).

* Refill for rinsing without touching the wool much.
